Home Care Cost & Coverage on the Alabama Gulf Coast.
We'll Tell You the Numbers Before You Commit to Anything.
What Serenity Heart costs, what it covers, and every honest answer about how families pay for it.
The cost conversation starts on the first call.
Antonio or Angelia picks up. They will give you a real number for your loved one's specific situation — not a range.
How pricing works: What determines your Home Care cost.
There is no standard rate that applies to every family. Here is what determines the number.
Home care is not a fixed product at a fixed price. What your loved one needs — the number of hours per week, the level of ADL support, whether 24-hour coverage is required, the specific conditions being managed — determines what the right care looks like. And what the right care looks like determines the cost.
Rather than publish a rate that may not reflect your situation, Serenity Heart has the cost conversation on the first call. Antonio or Angelia asks the right questions, works through what your loved one's care would actually involve, and gives you a real number before you commit to anything. That conversation takes about 15 minutes and produces a specific answer — not a range that forces you to guess where you land.
What this page can tell you: Serenity Heart's rates are consistent with industry standards for non-medical home care in South Alabama. We do not charge above market. We charge what the care requires. And we tell you the number before you move forward.
Home Care Vs. Nursing Home cost in Alabama. The comparison.
Not to pressure a decision. To give cost the full context it deserves.
The question is never just what home care costs. It is what home care costs compared to what. A semi-private room in an Alabama nursing home averages over $8,500 per month. Assisted living averages $4,600–$6,200 per month, with significant variation by facility and level of care.
For families managing care at home without any outside support, the cost is measured in something harder to put a number on: a family caregiver's health, sleep, employment, and capacity to keep showing up.
Home care through Serenity Heart is not inexpensive. For many families, it is a genuine financial stretch. But for families who can make it work, it is the option that keeps a loved one home, safe, and cared for by someone who was specifically matched to them.

Current & Coming: How families can cover Home Care cost in Alabama.
Serenity Heart currently accepts private pay. That means families pay directly for care — no insurance intermediary, no reimbursement process, no waiting on approvals. Also, Poarch Creek tribal members may be eligible for services through the Elder Services program.
We are actively pursuing accreditation that will allow us to accept Medicaid, Medicare, and long-term care insurance. That accreditation is a 2026 operational priority. The details for each incoming source are below.
Private pay
Private pay is the current standard for all Serenity Heart placements. If you are covering care out of pocket, this is your path. The cost conversation starts on the first call — not after you have committed to anything.
Families pay directly for care. Rates are discussed on the first call and confirmed before care begins. No insurance approval required. No reimbursement waiting period. Care can begin as quickly as 48–72 hours after the assessment.
Poarch Creek elder Services Program
Poarch Creek tribal members may be eligible for services through the Elder Services program — call us to find out what applies to your situation. We can walk you through what that looks like practically and what the current eligibility and timing looks like.
Medicaid
Medicaid is one of the most significant coverage sources for families with limited income, and it is a priority accreditation target for 2026. Once Medicaid accreditation is in place, it will open care access to a significantly larger group of families — particularly those who cannot currently cover private-pay rates.
If Medicaid coverage is important to your family's situation, call us now. We will advise on timing as those options become available.
Medicare
Medicare coverage for non-medical in-home care has specific eligibility requirements and typically applies in defined circumstances. We are pursuing Medicare accreditation as part of the same 2026 accreditation process.
Call us to discuss whether Medicare would apply to your loved one's specific situation once accreditation is in place.
VA Benefits
VA benefits are not currently available. The VA is not accepting new agencies at this time. If you are a veteran or the family of a veteran, call us — we will tell you honestly where things stand and what your options are right now.
Talk to Antonio About Home Care Cost. No Surprises.
One call tells you more than any page can. That is where the real numbers live.
We are straight about cost.
Home Care cost & coverage: your questions answered.
Direct answers. No softening language that does not belong here. The question families are most afraid to ask is answered plainly.
How does pricing work — is it hourly, or is there a weekly rate?
Pricing is based on the level of care and the number of hours your loved one needs each week. The first call is where we work through those specifics together — because the right answer depends on what your loved one's situation actually looks like, not a standard rate we apply to every family. Call Antonio directly at 251-236-3844 and that conversation happens in the first 15 minutes.
Does the level of care affect the cost, or is it a flat rate?
The complexity of care is one of the factors that shapes what the right coverage looks like for your family — and therefore what the cost looks like. A family needing 20 hours of scheduled support a week and a family needing 24-hour coverage are in different situations. We work through that with you on the first call so you have a real number before you make any decision.
Is there financial assistance available for families who cannot cover full private-pay rates?
Right now, Serenity Heart is private pay. We are actively pursuing Medicaid, Medicare, and long-term care insurance accreditation with a 2026 target — which will significantly expand the options available to families who cannot cover full private-pay rates. If you are in a situation where cost is a real barrier, call us anyway. We will tell you honestly what options exist today and what is coming, and we will not waste your time if the gap cannot be bridged right now.
If I have long-term care insurance, how does the claims process work with Serenity Heart?
Long-term care insurance is one of the coverage sources we are pursuing accreditation to accept. Call us with your policy details and we will tell you directly whether your coverage applies to non-medical in-home care and what the process would look like. Long-term care insurance policies vary significantly in what they cover — we will not give you a generic answer. We will look at your specific situation.
I am on a fixed income. What options are realistically available to me right now?
This is the most important question on this page, and it deserves a plain answer. Right now, Serenity Heart operates on private pay. If your income does not support full private-pay rates, the honest answer is that the options are limited until our 2026 accreditation goals are met — at which point Medicaid and Medicare will open up significantly for families in this situation. Poarch Creek tribal members may be eligible for services through the Elder Services program — call us to find out what applies to your situation. Call Antonio directly and tell him where you stand. He will be straight with you about what is realistic, including if Serenity Heart is not the right fit at this stage.
